Cambridge Harvard Academy of Energy, in conjunction with a number of leading British and international companies specializing in economic security and carrying out inspections on the creditworthiness, reliability and consistency of companies and law firms, held a seminar on “Ensuring economic corporate security and the integrity of the company ” in April 2018.
The delegation had an opportunity to visit the Forensic service of the British audit and consulting company Grant Thornton and the law Bivonas Law LLP.
At a meeting with lawyers, KazMunaiGas specialists discussed the risks that the company faces in preparing for listing on the London Stock Exchange in connection with the requirement of the British Bribery Act, which applies to all foreign companies with listing on London stock exchange. The law provides for severe penalties for company officials and fines imposed on the company as a whole. Antony Brown, Managing Partner of Bivonas Law Firm, and the participants discussed in detail the implementation of adequate procedures and regulations that companies need in connection with the requirement of the law, and practical steps to implement it.
At the session in Grant Thornton, the techniques of checking potential partners and their reliability were discussed in detail.
